LA County: Lead-free Barro Cookware by 4th Generation Artisans from Jalisco at Huntington Park (Oct 5-7)

For the past four generations, the Valdivia family of Tonala, Jalisco has created cookware made of barro (clay) while keeping the millennial tradition of Mexican barro pottery alive. They are known in Jalisco for being one of the few creators of lead-free cookware, a move they decided to make in spite of the new custom of using lead-based paint to seal pottery. This October 5-7, they will be visiting Huntington Park, CA for the 26th Annual Sabor De Mexico Lindo Festival.

If you would like to support the Valdivia family and the millennial traditions of Jalisco, please visit the festival and check them out!
